Hello, I am trying to do your tutorial for the Cool 3D can and I can't can't get past the first page... (Bend effect)
Hi, just a question about your tutorial you wrote on Ulead.com about "Creating a custom can". In step 5, do you know what the "X","Y",width, and heighth values for the "opening.ai", "ring.ai", and the dimpled piece are in the "Path Editor"? I know you could use any size and stuff but what did you use?
i get the following error message "the import command only works with closed path data.unable to find a closed path in this file."
How do you get an animated gif to stop at the end and not keep looping?
Everytime I save something the background is always white even when I don't choose white. Do you know how I can solve this problem?

Hello, I am trying to do your tutorial for the Cool 3D can and I can't can't get past the first page and was wondering if you could tell me what I am doing wrong. I open the Path Editor and load the base.ai file and set the size as noted in the tutorial...see attached image. Then I set the Bevel as shown in the tut and the Bend as shown in the tut but I don't have a can, I just have an edge...not what the tut shows...see attached image.

answer:
On your picture it is visible, that you have not made correct parameters for Bevel Effect. Make them as on an example and you will make the can.

"opening.ai" - width=90, heighth=88, x=0, y=0
"ring.ai" - width=49, heighth=78, x=0, y=-25.

When i try to import a wmf into cool3d i get the following error message "the import command only works with closed path data.unable to find a closed path in this file." what software will allow me to save a wmf as a closed path data file?

answer:
All software will to save a wmf as a closed path data file: CorelDraw, Freehand, Illustrator, AutoCad... Cool3d use only closed paths: circles, rectanges, ect.
NOT LINES! NOT CURVES!
For exsample: if you want import line with length 50 and thickness=5, you must create rectangle width=50 height=5.

When you save animated GIF make "Looping:" =0

answer:
When you create file GIF check up that the option "transparent background" is switched off.
